Talent Operations Specialist

FYI For Your Information•Silver Spring, MD

About The Position

FYI - For Your Information, Inc. is seeking a motivated, tech-savvy Talent Operations Specialist to join our team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of people, operations, projects, data, AI, and technology. This is not a traditional HR position. The Talent Operations Specialist will support a broad range of initiatives across the organization-from recruiting and employee operations to project coordination, client support, research, data analysis, and emerging technology. The right person will be comfortable shifting priorities, learning new tools quickly, solving problems independently, and taking an assignment from "here's what we need" to a well-executed result.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2-5 years of professional experience, ideally including exposure to HR/talent operations and project coordination, PMO support, business operations, or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and comfort working with data, reporting, research, and technology.
  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools and an interest in continually exploring new ways to use AI to solve business problems and improve productivity.
  • Experience with or interest in AI-assisted development/"vibe coding"-using natural-language prompts and AI coding tools to rapidly create, modify, or prototype applications, automations, workflows, or other practical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence interacting with employees, leadership, candidates, and clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize an issue, investigate it, and propose a solution.
  • A willingness to take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, experiment with new approaches, and figure things out when there isn't an established playbook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power BI, data visualization, or dashboard development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day talent and HR operations, including recruiting, onboarding, employee communications, workforce initiatives, and special projects.
  • Coordinate projects and initiatives by tracking actions, deadlines, deliverables, dependencies, and follow-up activities.
  • Work directly with internal leaders, employees, candidates, and clients to gather information, coordinate activities, and keep initiatives moving forward.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and present workforce and operational data to support business decisions.
  • Conduct research, synthesize information, and turn findings into clear recommendations, summaries, or action plans.
  • Leverage AI as an everyday work tool for research, analysis, content development, process improvement, problem-solving, and increased productivity.
  • Explore AI-assisted development and "vibe coding" to rapidly prototype or build lightweight tools, automations, dashboards, workflows, or other solutions that improve how work gets done.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, or improve processes rather than simply following the way things have always been done.
  • Develop trackers, reports, dashboards, presentations, process documentation, and other tools that help organize, analyze, and communicate information.
  • Jump into new assignments and special projects as business needs evolve.
