About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Talent Management Director, the HR Generalist will be responsible for advancing a top-tier employee experience that spans the full life cycle. The HR Generalist is a hands-on role that provides human resources support to our organization. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in human resources, including payroll
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, or another related field
  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card required
  • Knowledgeable of Federal and Arizona employment law
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with prioritization abilities
  • Strong technology skills with HRIS and ATS experience preferred

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists in organizing, coordinating, and executing human resource projects and processes for the organization and works on the day-to-day employee issues and enforces organization policies and practices.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll administration via BambooHR
  • Performs functions of payroll and timekeeping while ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance (federal, state, & local), confidentiality, and timeliness.
  • Oversees Recruitment and full-cycle hiring process
  • Conducts training of HR Coordinator(s) and Assistants in recruitment best practices and procedures.
  • Oversees and coordinates new hire onboarding procedures, including new hire paperwork, EVerify, and employee orientation, and ensures all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of AZACS policies and procedures, contributing to preparing and maintaining the employee handbook.
  • Partners closely with managers and supervisors, providing expertise, coaching, and guidance on performance management and productive conflict resolution while ensuring compliance with regulations and best HR practices.
  • Maintains HRIS system, creates and performs regular HRIS audits to ensure accuracy and compliance (such as tracking and updating fingerprint and certification data), and accurately responds to HR data requests.
  • Conducts exit interviews and evaluates employee turnover causes, while making recommendations for improvements.
  • Assists with recruiting and training/development, as needed.
  • Establish a solid foundation of trust and credibility to be an effective listener and problem solver of personal and organizational challenges.
  • Drive continuous focus on initiatives to create a high-performance organization, reflecting AZACS’ culture and core values in its recruitment, training, and benefits programs.
  • Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities in order to accomplish all critical tasks and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, to ensure understanding by all affected individuals.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains updated knowledge of best and most productive HR practices in subject areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as necessary and requested.
