About The Position

Laminar is seeking a Talent Engine Lead (Technical Recruiter) to fuel its rapid growth. This role is crucial for scaling the team quickly without compromising quality, culture, or experience. The Talent Engine Lead will own the full talent lifecycle, playing a critical role in shaping the team, culture, and growth trajectory of Laminar, a company transforming factory operations through automation, data intelligence, and sustainability. The position involves high-volume, high-impact recruiting across technical and business roles, as well as building systems for onboarding, performance, and retention. This role reports to the Head of Operations and collaborates closely with leadership, including the Co-Founders. It is ideal for an individual who wants to move fast, take ownership, and build a world-class team from the ground up.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of recruiting experience, including technical roles, in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Obsessed with talent—loves meeting smart ambitious people, building relationships, and convincing them to join something meaningful.
  • Proactive candidate sourcing—goes out and finds candidates.
  • Ability to manage high volume without lowering the bar.
  • Systems-minded and execution-driven—builds processes and gets things done daily.
  • Comfortable pushing hiring managers and influencing decisions.
  • Deep care for candidate and employee experience—not just closing roles.
  • Excited to own onboarding and make it a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Talent Building: Full-cycle recruiting across engineering, data, deployments, customer support, and business roles.
  • Pipeline generation that doesn’t rely on inbound—creatively source, engage, and close top talent.
  • Recruiting marketing, partnerships, and employer brand development (universities, communities, networks).
  • Delivering a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects Laminar’s ambition and culture.
  • Building a High Talent Dense Team: Partnering deeply with hiring managers to define roles, raise the bar, and move quickly.
  • Reinforcing a culture of high performance and high talent density.
  • Helping leadership make strong hiring decisions—and tough calls when needed.
  • Onboarding & Employee Experience: Designing and continuously improving onboarding so new hires ramp quickly and feel connected to the mission.
  • Building a measurable onboarding framework with clear 30/60/90-day performance and integration milestones.
  • Creating systems that ensure people succeed, grow, and stay engaged.
  • People & Org Infrastructure: Building scalable recruiting and People Ops systems (including HRIS implementation).
  • Supporting org chart design and team structure as we scale.
  • Contributing to compensation design and competitive incentivization strategies.
  • Helping implement performance management, feedback cycles, and (when necessary) exits.
  • Retention & Culture: Developing strategies to retain top performers and maintain a high-performing, mission-driven culture.
  • Acting as a cultural steward—ensuring we not only hire great people, but build an environment where they thrive.
