About The Position

Holmes Murphy is seeking a Human Resources Intern for its 10-week Summer 2027 Internship Program at the West Des Moines, Iowa office. The program offers a chance to learn about the insurance industry, explore professional interests, and gain insight into the company and its operations through educational workshops. Interns can learn about HR functions and career paths while developing communication skills through presentations and connecting with industry experts, leaders, and fellow interns.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled or in pursuit of enrollment at a four-year institution.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience, preferably in a customer service or administrative role.
• Majors previously pursued by interns include Business Administration, Finance, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Health Promotion, Risk Management & Insurance, and Human Resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to the Human Resources team.
• Assist with Talent Acquisition initiatives, including the summer intern program.
• Assist with team projects and learn about HR functions such as system reporting, employee engagement, new employee onboarding, the peer recognition program, and compensation and benefits.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
