About The Position

This role is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent for both field and office positions—ensuring we have the right people in the right seats to serve our clients and each other well.

Requirements

  • Experience in recruiting (construction or skilled trades strongly preferred).
  • A genuine interest in people—the ability to connect, listen well, and discern strengths.
  • Understanding of commercial construction roles, or a willingness to quickly learn the landscape.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Integrity, follow-through, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to understand current and future hiring needs across project teams and departments.
  • Recruit for a variety of roles including Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and skilled trades.
  • Build meaningful relationships with candidates—seeing beyond resumes to who they are and how they’re wired.
  • Proactively source talent through networking, referrals, industry connections, and community partnerships.
  • Lead candidates through a thoughtful, organized hiring process from first conversation to offer acceptance.
  • Champion the Gordon Highlander story—who we are, what we value, and why people want to be part of it.
  • Develop pipelines of talent to support both immediate needs and long-term growth.
  • Partner in onboarding efforts to help new Highlanders feel welcomed, equipped, and set up for success.
  • Track recruiting progress and continuously look for ways to improve the experience for candidates and hiring teams.
  • Support workforce planning in alignment with project timelines and company vision.
