About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plans, develops and implements recruitment strategies for assigned departments with special emphasis on a well-qualified and diverse pool of candidates, exceptional internal and external customer support, process improvement, and cost effectiveness. Responsible for managing all aspects of the recruiting process life cycle for exempt and non-exempt level positions as well as participating in HR projects.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field and three (3) to five (5) years previous human resources/recruiting experience.
  • Requires an advanced knowledge of recruiting practices and exceptional leadership abilities, which include, but are not limited to, interpersonal skills and ability to maintain and improve service excellence.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Prior Experience with Application Tracking Systems.
  • Functional Skills on PC and Related Software (Microsoft Office) .
  • Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and various software programs.
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or Human Resources.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is preferred.
  • Prior Healthcare recruiting experience.
  • Prior experience with social and digital media sources
  • Experience in Healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares job postings and posts open positions internally following established standard work
  • Assists with strategic sourcing strategies depending on flow of applicants
  • Monitors applicant movement along the process with the Talent Acquisition Representative partnership
  • Assists with benefits, compensation functions, and special projects, as required
  • Proactively develops and executes effective recruitment strategies to enhance talent pool.
  • Coordinates necessary campaigns to target and attract robust candidate pipelines across a diverse range of business areas leveraging technology, social media sourcing and branding tools to support attraction.
  • Organizes and executes recruitment events.
  • Attends external recruiting events as a representative of Independence Health System promoting a positive organizational image with professional branding campaign
  • Participates in education programs that offer students in secondary schools to market diverse healthcare opportunities as their profession of choice.
  • Tracks and analyzes recruitment efforts through regular reporting/metrics to maintain LEAN practice and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Partners with hiring managers to review and vet candidates who apply within the applicant tracking system.
  • Conducts initial virtual interviews to ensure knowledge skills and abilities meet minimum job-related requirements.
  • Performs Behavioral skill-based interview skill-based interviews to assess candidate qualifications against job description requirements
  • Partners with hiring Mangers to select top quality candidates for hire.
  • Make all official job offers.
  • Ensures education and employment verifications are completed by third party vendors.
  • Ensures required criminal background checks are completed as well as processing of all necessary back end new hire paperwork
  • Partners with the compensation department and communicates appropriate compensation offers for candidate, utilizing Independence Health guidelines
  • Determines and communicates appropriate benefit package information for candidate, at the time of interview
  • Follows all established standard work guidelines relating to correspondence to applicants and employees
  • Ensures follow up with all candidates post interview.
  • Maintains documentation on Sign-on Bonus.
  • Prepares and maintains Sign-on Bonus Agreements.
  • Tracks and initiates payments to employees receiving Sign-on bonuses.
  • Updates assigned area Sign on Bonuses on team spreadsheet and postings, adding, updating or deleting as necessary.
  • Communicate with employees and management, as necessary.
  • Build Business partnership with assigned hiring managers
  • Answers questions regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations as required.
  • Stays current with policy and legal updates.
  • Brings appropriate questions and issues related to these communications to human resources management personnel as necessary.
  • Verifies licenses/registrations/certifications on all new hires prior to job offer.
  • Performs primary source verification on all new hires.
  • Represents Independence Health career opportunities in the community.
  • Guides and facilitates the development, and implementation of system-wide policies and procedures.
  • Stays current on market trends and practices as relates to sourcing methods and ensure knowledge sharing, coaching, and mentoring occurs.
  • Conducts/Assists in Training and project opportunities
  • Conducts New Manager Employment 101 training courses.
  • Conducts Manager Standard Work for Recruitment refresher trainings as y to ensure consistency and fairness in all hiring practice
  • Participates in preparing and conducting any other training in partnership with Employee Relations and Shared Services as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
