About The Position

Wind River Environmental is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their team. This role is crucial for building the teams that keep communities running by providing essential environmental and wastewater services. The ideal candidate will understand that great recruiting involves building relationships, understanding the work, identifying individuals who thrive in the company culture, and helping operations leaders build strong, long-term teams. This position is primarily remote but requires occasional travel to branches within the assigned region. The role focuses on recruiting frontline talent, including CDL Drivers, Septic & Pump Truck Operators, Drain Cleaning Technicians, Plumbing Professionals, Diesel Mechanics, Skilled Trades Professionals, and other safety-sensitive field positions. The specialist will act as a trusted recruiting partner, understanding hiring needs, assessing candidates beyond resumes, and helping managers hire individuals who will succeed at Wind River Environmental.

Requirements

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Must reside within the Wind River Environmental operating footprint.
  • 3-5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Experience recruiting for blue-collar, skilled trades, transportation, environmental services, construction, or other industrial field operations.
  • Experience recruiting CDL and other safety-sensitive positions.
  • Strong sourcing skills with demonstrated success identifying and engaging passive candidates.
  • Excellent interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with candidates, hiring managers, and HR partners.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (Paylocity experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

  • Strong preference for candidates located in the Orlando, FL metropolitan area.
  • Candidates in North/Central Florida will also be considered.
  • Exceptional candidates located in the Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA metropolitan areas may also be considered.
  • Experience recruiting within industrial services or field service organizations.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an average portfolio of 20-30 active requisitions, with potential increases during peak seasonal periods (up to 50).
  • Partner with Operations Managers and Supervisors to understand hiring needs and workforce challenges.
  • Build strong working relationships with Regional HR Business Partners to align hiring with talent strategies.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners on hiring escalations and other employment-related situations.
  • Conduct intake meetings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and guide candidates through the hiring process.
  • Conduct interviews in both English and Spanish.
  • Build strong candidate pipelines using multiple sourcing strategies (sponsored job advertising, online platforms, referrals, networking, proactive outreach).
  • Actively seek out high-quality passive candidates and explore new sourcing methods.
  • Share market insights, candidate feedback, and hiring recommendations with managers.
  • Deliver a responsive, professional, and engaging candidate experience.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting activity within the Applicant Tracking System (Paylocity experience is a plus).
  • Travel throughout the assigned region as needed to strengthen relationships, understand local hiring markets, and stay connected to field operations.
