Requirements

  • Associate's degree OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of human resources, recruitment, or related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Two (2) years of previous recruitment experience in healthcare
  • Workday Experience
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certificate or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust, creative, and innovative recruitment strategies in alignment with departmental and organizational goals
  • Build relationships with local and regional recruitment sources to build and maintain a steady flow of candidates.
  • Develops and maintains recruiting contacts with the college placement offices, high school guidance counselors, NYS Job Service counselors, employment recruiters, and other appropriate resources
  • Use contemporary recruitment tactics to source and attract high quality job applicants
  • Develop strategic relationships, based on trust and respect, with hiring managers and become subject matter experts within the business units served, as a Talent Advisor
  • Participating in a team environment where collaboration, compassion, and support for one another are seen as critical success factors
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Reviews and screens all applications and resumes.
  • Interview with qualified applicants.
  • Discusses benefits, quotes salary ranges, discusses relocation arrangements and sign-on bonuses if appropriate, and coordinates interviews with appropriate management staff.
  • Coordinates internal transfers/promotions with internal hires.
  • Collaborates with management staff regarding selection decisions, provides recommendations as appropriate, and serves as a resource for management staff during pre-employment period and the new hire orientation period.
  • Work alongside service line HRBPs as a unified front to cover the employment needs of Hiring Managers.
  • Verifies required information, i.e. licenses, permits, certifications, and immigration credentials, as necessary.
  • Extends employment offers to candidates that includes providing the candidate with starting salary rate (negotiating if necessary), arranging pre-employment physicals and establishing employment dates.
  • Initiates payroll data for new hires.
  • Participate in the development of the Strategic Recruitment Plan on an annual basis as well as track year to date performance against hiring targets and adjust on an as needed basis to recruitment activities to achieve targeted hiring results.
  • Provides training to all managers and staff on behavioral based interviewing techniques as well as applicable employment laws pertaining to the interview and selection of candidates.
  • Participate in job fairs and career days at high schools, colleges and universities and other special recruitment events.
  • Recommend recruitment marketing strategies, drafts ads, and arrange placement of advertising through agencies or directly with Recruitment Marketing.
  • Utilizes HRIS, Recruiter application tracking system, and other systems to perform daily tasks.
  • Document the effectiveness of various recruitment approaches and recommends changes in programs, policies, or procedures to continually improve the recruitment process.
  • Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate and participates in professional activities to keep informed of developments in the HR field and the community.
  • Provides recruitment support to other UHS subsidiaries when requested.
  • May assume additional responsibilities, as requested
