Develop Health•San Francisco, CA
•$175,000 - $185,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Develop Health is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Lead who will initially serve as its Founding Recruiter and build the company’s Talent Acquisition approach as it scales. This is the first full-time recruiting hire, combining hands-on recruiting with TA strategy, talent brand, messaging, events, and future team building. The role partners closely with the leadership team, CTO, Fractional Head of People, contract sourcers and recruiters, and hiring managers. Existing foundations include Ashby, trained hiring managers, and established recruiting processes and workflows. The role is approximately 80% hands-on recruiting and 20% Talent Acquisition strategy. The recruiter will own the candidate lifecycle, define roles and interview plans with hiring managers, source and engage candidates—especially for senior and specialized Engineering, Product and Design, and senior Go To Market positions—and support competitive offers. Strategic work includes developing the talent brand and employer value proposition, talent mapping and candidate nurturing, and evolving a rigorous, fast-paced, flexible, high-signal candidate experience. The position works onsite at least two days per week, with at least three days per week available at home for focused sourcing and screening.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of recruiting experience.
  • At least 2 years managing high-touch recruiting processes for senior, rare, and technical talent within a Tier 1, VC-backed company.
  • At least 2 years of Talent Acquisition strategy experience, such as talent mapping and pool building, university strategy, talent brand, or events strategy.
  • Experience owning at least one part of Talent Acquisition strategy and understanding what is required to step into a TA leadership role while maintaining recruiting velocity.
  • Proficiency with modern recruiting tools.
  • Comfort and enthusiasm for using AI to improve workflows, build automations, and create more efficient processes.
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to support a COO with clear convictions about culture and working norms.
  • Strong drive and organization to bring the company's culture and working-norms vision to life.
  • Ability to work onsite at least two days per week and take ownership of the candidate onsite experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a seamless, high-touch recruiting experience throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define roles, write compelling job descriptions, and develop effective interview plans.
  • Proactively source, screen, and engage candidates, focusing on senior and specialized Engineering, Product and Design, and senior Go To Market talent.
  • Guide candidates through the process and create a positive, professional experience that reflects company values and supports a high offer-acceptance rate.
  • Support the CTO and leadership team in benchmarking and extending competitive offers.
  • Develop and promote the company's talent brand through mission-centered messaging and candidate-facing stories.
  • Provide market feedback to the Fractional Head of People and founders to help maintain a compelling total rewards package and candidate value proposition.
  • Map talent in San Francisco and beyond, develop networking strategies, and nurture relationships with candidates for future opportunities.
  • Evolve the hiring process to reflect the employee experience while keeping it rigorous, flexible, reliable, high-signal, and data-driven.
  • Take ownership of the candidate onsite experience in partnership with the office manager.
  • Build out the Talent Acquisition function and, over time, grow a team.
