About The Position

The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is seeking a people-centred, service-oriented Talent and People Coordinator for a 6-month contract opportunity. This role focuses on recruitment coordination, providing broader HR administrative support, and building relationships with hiring managers, candidates, and partners. The Talent Acquisition team is committed to fostering inclusive, people-first hiring experiences to attract diverse talent passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of Canadians affected by cancer. The role involves collaborating with colleagues on nationally impactful work and contributing to the evolution of talent attraction, support, and growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all job postings, including creation, translation coordination, and posting on various job boards.
  • Administer the interview process by scheduling interviews, booking rooms/virtual links, confirming attendees, managing reschedules/cancellations, ensuring interview panels have necessary materials, collecting interviewer feedback, and saving TA collateral to SharePoint.
  • Handle candidate communications and inbox management, responding to inquiries, providing status updates, and sending rejection communications using standard templates.
  • Collaborate with HR Specialists for a smooth transition from recruitment to onboarding, conduct background and reference verifications, communicate with candidates during the reference check process, create and submit new hire onboarding IT tickets, and update employee resources.
  • Track upcoming start dates for new hires to ensure timely equipment arrival and maintain accurate recruitment trackers.
  • Coordinate internship/student programs, including researching and presenting findings for funding opportunities.
  • Support broader talent initiatives by coordinating day-to-day talent activities, maintaining accurate records and documentation, supporting reporting and data quality checks, and assisting with talent initiatives and projects by organizing logistics, updating resources, and assisting with process improvements.
  • Assist with employer branding initiatives, which may include social media posts, career fair planning, and other outreach activities.
  • Contribute to diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity (DIBE) by ensuring all staff feel represented, valued, and heard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
