About The Position

The Tailor/Fitter provides customers with high-quality service through skilled garment fitting and alteration work. The role includes measuring customers, fitting garments, marking areas for alteration, and completing fittings and sewing alterations on time in accordance with Nordstrom guidelines and service standards. The Tailor also works toward productivity goals, uses store technology to organize customer alteration needs, and collaborates with the Alterations and Store teams. Employees educate customers and coworkers about fit, style, construction, and trends in a professional and friendly manner.

Requirements

Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing and pressing machinery and standard alterations equipment.
Ability to embrace a flexible working schedule based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; a minimum of 2–3 years is preferred.

Responsibilities

Measure customers for size and fit garments on customers.
