About The Position

Language Trainers is an international language training company working with freelance teachers of 99+ languages in hundreds of cities worldwide. Founded in 2004, our motto is Any Language, Anytime, Anywhere (and Online). We provide customized language training to professionals and private students for work, family, and travel purposes. We are currently looking for a freelance Tagalog Teacher for one of our clients in Oakland, United States. This is a freelance, part-time position with a total of 50 hours, consisting of two-hour sessions, twice a week. The student is a beginner, aged 65 and over, who needs to learn conversational Tagalog within 7 months for a trip to the Philippines and for business. The preferred start date is ASAP.

Requirements

Native Tagalog speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
Experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
Valid work permit/visa.
Live within 20 miles of the specified location (San Leandro, CA 94578 and/or Oakland/Berkeley 94577).
Ability to provide CV with references.
Availability for the specified schedule and earliest possible start date.

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching business Tagalog.
Experience teaching students in the 65 and over age group.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one business Tagalog training to a beginner student aged 65 and over.
Conduct two two-hour sessions per week, preferably on Tuesdays and Sundays at 6 PM.
Adapt to a flexible schedule and location (San Leandro, CA 94578 and/or Trainers Office in Oakland/Berkeley 94577) based on availability.
Prepare and deliver conversational Tagalog lessons tailored to the student's motivation for travel and business.
