About The Position

ZACHRY/JVIC is currently seeking an experienced Tack Welder to join our fabrication team at the Pasadena Shop. The Tack Welder will weld, fabricate, and assist pipe fitters in the installation of varying types of industrial pipe into the projects piping systems. NO PER DIEM.

Requirements

Must have 1+ years’ experience with Welding.
Must have the ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.
Must be able to TIG weld on Pipe.
Must be familiar with the following processes GTAW.
Must have current applicable welding certification with Zachry or be able to successfully pass a weld test.
Must be able to stand for 10 hours, and squat and bend at the waist as needed throughout the day.
Have the ability to lift at least 50lbs.
Professional ability to work well with management.
Excellent communication and teaming abilities.
Attention to detail!

Education: High School Diploma or GED; preferred or Formal/technical education
Computer Skills: Not applicable
Certification/Licenses: None specifically required.
Must have good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
Identify all tools required for tasks and perform minor maintenance/cleaning of tools.
Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Sets up equipment and welds parts, using GTAW.
Read and Interpret WPS.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts.
Must be able to operate 4” angle grinder and small die grinder for grinding pipe and fittings.
Perform test to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.
Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Report any unsafe conditions wherever they exist to the safety department, their supervisor, or management.
Report all incidents/accidents/injuries involving the health and wellbeing of any employee to management immediately.
