About The Position

We are seeking a Hybrid/Local Tableau Admin with over 12 years of experience, including expertise in SQL, optimization, and scripting. This role is for an 18-month duration and is located in Lansing, MI (DTMB). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Tableau Server administration, BI platform administration, technical troubleshooting, performance optimization, and automation/scripting. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with a passion for continuous learning and project management experience related to Tableau and BI systems.

Requirements

Tableau Server Administration: Strong understanding of Tableau Server, including installation, configuration, backup, restore, and user/group management.
BI Platform Administration: Knowledge of administering BI tools, including managing user access, security, and data sources, and handling software updates and upgrades.
Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
Familiarity with SQL and other database technologies.
Performance Optimization: Ability to optimize performance of BI tools and database systems, including monitoring usage and utilization, capacity planning, and optimizing queries.
Automation and Scripting: Experience with scripting and automation tools for deployment and maintenance of Tableau/BI systems.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders in a multi-functional environment.
Continuous Learning: Passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest Tableau and BI trends, tools, and technologies and to continuously improve their skills and knowledge.
Project Management: Experience with managing projects and tasks related to Tableau and BI systems, including creating plans, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, backup, and restore Tableau Server.
Manage user and group access on Tableau Server.
