The Casino Pit Manager is accountable and responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the casino table games. This role is responsible to the Casino Shift Manager for successful performance of assigned duties and for the supervision and performance of Dual-Rate Pit Managers, Floor Supervisors, Dealers, and Dual-Rate Dealers. The Pit Manager assists and advises other departments and company personnel as necessary to assure the success of the table games and the company overall. This role is responsible for supervising, floor management of dealers, and other subordinates in the pit area, ensuring correct procedures are followed on table games. The Pit Manager manages the request for fills/credits, player ratings, keeping track of markers, and rundowns for the entire pit. They analyze customer play for cheating, scams, counters, and any unusual or suspicious variations of play, and monitor rated players for input into the database tracking system. Reviewing staffing levels to maintain operational effectiveness, delegating authority, assigning responsibilities, and developing staff through interviews, hires, evaluations, and disciplinary actions are also key functions. The Pit Manager reviews departmental financial data, table game activities, and promotional status with the Table Games Shift Manager, and meets with departmental directors and managers as necessary. Providing excellent customer service and ensuring the safety and security of guests and employees, including managing processes and programs to effectively control and reduce loss time injuries, are critical aspects of this role.
