About The Position

The Electromechanical Technician will assist PLS (Product Line Support) Engineers in daily activities such as participating in Tier Meetings, troubleshooting quality and/or manufacturing issues, product improvement projects (Yield), evaluating and disposing of deviations or TCRs, performing measurements and functional evaluations of parts, components, or systems, conducting life or endurance tests on units according to the plan (MET), and fostering root cause analysis of failures in electrical or mechanical tests. The role also involves coordinating tasks for effective implementation of engineering changes using the MCO-Enovia system, supporting other departments in creating/validating manufacturing instructions, and validating components, products, processes, and equipment. Additionally, the technician will support new product implementation and industrialization, material resilience projects, product improvement projects, and value analysis-value engineering activities.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Technological, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering with 3 or more years of experience in advanced manufacturing environments, processes, and industrial equipment.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering with 1 year or less of experience in advanced manufacturing environments, processes, and industrial equipment (may include experience in projects like Capstone, COOP, or work practices).
  • Basic-intermediate English proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or knowledge of OGP, CMM, High Gage measurement equipment.
  • Experience or knowledge of Testing Equipment (Mechanical Tester, Dielectric, Calibration, End of the line).

Responsibilities

  • Assist PLS Engineers in daily activities including Tier Meetings, quality/manufacturing problem-solving, product improvement projects, deviation/TCR evaluation, part/component/system measurements and functional evaluation, life/endurance testing, and root cause analysis of failures.
  • Coordinate tasks for effective implementation of engineering changes using the MCO-Enovia system.
  • Support other departments in creating/validating manufacturing instructions, components, products, processes, and equipment.
  • Assist in the implementation and industrialization of new products, material resilience projects, product improvements, and value analysis-value engineering activities.
  • Coordinate dimensional, functional tests, and evaluations of product, process, and test equipment as required under the change management procedure or engineering change implementation.
  • Support the processing of engineering changes through MCO; develop operational procedures and methods/sequences for products to be documented in ENOVIA, AS400, and MAPICS.
  • Follow up on containment or permanent actions implemented as a result of Corrective Actions or identified improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints with knowledge and skill in using measurement equipment for dimensional tests.
  • Assist the Quality team in component evaluation under the PPAP program.
  • Assist assembly operators, process engineers, and quality engineers in analyzing and solving manufacturing and quality problems using problem-solving techniques like Six-Sigma, 8D, and/or other statistical techniques.
  • Provide training to other engineering technicians on measurement techniques, problem-solving techniques, change management techniques, and the use of AS400/MAPICS/ENOVIA/PDM systems.
  • Be responsible for the safety and handling of assigned equipment (computer, terminal) and documentation in the work area.
  • Provide technical guidance and safety training to new MET lab technicians on lab equipment.
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis and Ergonomics analysis for the MESH program.
  • Perform duties according to received training, including JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
  • Perform other assigned tasks according to the position.
