About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to lead and execute quality assurance activities across complex enterprise systems. This role is responsible for planning testing strategies, developing test plans and test cases, executing various types of testing, identifying defects, supporting automation initiatives, and ensuring applications meet business, technical, accessibility, and performance requirements.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data.
  • Strong experience in manual and automated testing.
  • Experience with unit, integration, load, performance, system, regression, and acceptance testing.
  • Experience testing Web APIs and Windows services using tools such as Postman, ThunderClient, Swagger, or equivalent.
  • Experience with automation testing tools such as Playwright, Quick Test Pro (QTP/UFT), LoadRunner, or equivalent.
  • Experience testing web applications and data warehouse systems.
  • Experience creating and executing automated test scripts.
  • Experience writing test scripts, test cases, and test scenarios while reporting and tracking defects.
  • Experience investigating production issues and identifying root causes.
  • Experience with testing lifecycle processes across SDLC and STLC phases.
  • Experience using test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Experience with SQL, databases, XML, and database testing.
  • Experience creating complex SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
  • Experience testing accessibility compliance (WCAG AA) within web applications.
  • Experience using accessibility testing tools and screen readers.
  • Experience with desktop productivity tools including Visio, Microsoft Office, Project, and Outlook.
  • Experience working within enterprise batch, online, n-tier, and web environments.
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Selenium, Cypress, Postman, or similar testing platforms.
  • Understanding of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of structured software development methodologies and SDLC concepts.
  • Experience with CASE tools, version control systems, and data query tools.
  • Experience developing and managing test data strategies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on testing strategy, test plans, testing tools, and resource requirements.
  • Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments.
  • Execute systems integration testing, specialized testing, stress testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop test plans, test scripts, and test cases for multiple system components.
  • Collaborate with testing leads, IT leads, and project teams throughout analysis, design, development, implementation, and support phases.
  • Execute functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
  • Validate system behavior under various conditions.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using testing management and defect tracking tools.
  • Work closely with development teams to reproduce and resolve defects.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct performance, stress, and load testing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and related regulations.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain detailed testing documentation, quality metrics, and coverage reports.
  • Contribute to user documentation and release notes.
  • Ensure testing activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support root cause analysis for production issues and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct data validation and backend testing activities.
  • Support data migration and transformation testing.
  • Perform performance testing, scalability testing, and bottleneck analysis.
  • Participate in SIT, SAT, and UAT testing activities following established testing methodologies.
