The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems. This role involves providing advice on testing strategy, test plans, tool selection, and resource identification. The specialist will plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in both Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests). The position requires executing functional, integration, system, and regression tests, validating system behavior under various conditions, and identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects using tools like ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps. Collaboration with developers is key for issue reproduction and resolution. The role also includes developing and maintaining automated test scripts, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and conducting performance, stress, and load testing. Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards is important. The specialist will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers, participate in Agile ceremonies, and maintain documentation of test results and quality metrics. Input for user manuals and release notes is also expected, ensuring testing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
