Systems Test Engineer 2

ULA•Pueblo, CO
•Onsite

About The Position

The Systems Test Engineer 2 works at ULA’s Pueblo Prop Shop, its primary testing facility, designing and conducting development and qualification tests for components and systems used in orbital launch vehicles and the Vulcan rocket. Testing may include structural, dynamic (shock and vibration), cryogenic compatibility, high-pressure pneumatics and flow, destructive and non-destructive, and electrical testing. The engineer works as part of a team to design and achieve test goals. They gather requirements from test documents and coordinate with test directors and customers, then develop test setups that meet those requirements and simulate flight-like conditions. Tests may last from a few weeks to several months, requiring a balance of hands-on setup and testing work with conceptual design and team coordination. The role also applies engineering expertise across project activities, including technology considerations, cost and financial administration, and schedule management. In a production environment, the engineer assembles and tests flight hardware to verify functionality and workmanship, identify anomalies and non-conformances, and confirm that products will perform as intended in flight. The position offers opportunities to gain project management, test engineering, and leadership experience.
