The Systems Technician serves a dual-function role spanning project closeout and ongoing system support, ensuring Summit-installed AVL systems are fully commissioned, documented, and transitioned for long-term success. During the final phase of Design/Build projects, this role is responsible for testing, commissioning, validating, and documenting AVL systems to ensure alignment with design intent and readiness for client handoff. Following project completion, the Systems Technician provides first-line technical support and delivers contracted services under established SLAs, maintaining and optimizing system performance for existing clients. The Systems Technician works under the direction of the Systems & Support Lead and serves as a hands-on technical resource across Commissioning, Support, and Services. This role emphasizes execution, documentation, cross-functional coordination, and high-quality customer interaction while adhering to Summit standards and service methodologies. All essential functions must be performed without endangering the health and/or safety of the individual or others. Definitions: Commissioning: Installation commissioning support for Engineering and Solution Architect teams, acting as the technical bridge between Installation, Engineering, and the client to verify system performance, validate design intent, complete system testing, and support project handoff. Support: Post-install warranty support, including remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of installed systems, coordination with manufacturers on warranty-related issues, and resolution of issues related to Summit’s installation workmanship during the warranty period. Service(s): Contracted offerings that provide proactive, ongoing, or expanded support beyond standard Support, including maintenance plans, system calibration, upgrades, and on-site services.
