About The Position

This position supports our C-shift operation which operates Mon-Thu 4:00pm - 2:30am. The role involves monitoring and troubleshooting all hardware, peripheral components, and software applications in the Distribution Center (DC) to ensure functionality and coordinate servicing as necessary. The specialist will communicate with the Home Office Systems Division regarding the installation and operation of DC hardware, peripheral components, and software applications, and provide technical assistance to DC users.

  • 2 years computer operations with demonstrated familiarity with communications (voice, data, telecommunications)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and troubleshoot all Distribution Center computers, telecommunications (voice and data) and copier hardware to include; printers, terminals, RF units, controllers, IDF cabinets, AS400, to ensure continuous operation within the Distribution Center.
  • Ensure all network components are operational, make repairs, adjustments, and reconfigures systems as needed.
  • Assist Systems Supervisor in making recommendations concerning installations, continued maintenance and planning of current projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive and detailed records of equipment inventory, problems and failures.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and / or corrective programs with vendor service personnel.
  • Install necessary communication equipment.
  • Install cable lines and configures systems, as deemed necessary.
  • Clean equipment as needed.
  • Sets up individual user computers/workstations and peripheral devices on network.
  • Identify and resolve problems, clean and reconfigure equipment, make repairs and/or coordinate services.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to DC users as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.
