About The Position

Saturn Petcare Inc. is seeking a skilled Systems & Security Administrator to administer and protect the company’s IT infrastructure, identity systems, network, application integrations, and security operations at our Terre Haute, Indiana manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on, technical role that combines systems administration with cybersecurity across a hybrid on-premises and cloud environment, including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration, zero-trust identity controls, endpoint and threat protection, network administration, backup and recovery, and workflow automation. The position is the day-to-day technical owner of these systems and works under the direction of the IT Director, within the standards, plans, and priorities set by IT leadership. The role supports continuous food manufacturing operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology field or similar AND 3+ years’ related experience OR Associate degree or higher in Information Technology or similar AND 4+ years’ related experience OR An equivalent combination of education, certification, and directly related experience.
  • Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (Azure AD) administration, including Conditional Access and MFA
  • On-premises Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Windows Server administration and virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware)
  • Backup and recovery administration (Veeam or equivalent)
  • Endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability management tooling
  • Core networking: firewalls, switching, VLANs, VPN, and wireless
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation, routine reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical employees and to deliver security awareness training to groups of employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, including capacity planning, license and cost analysis, and interpretation of security and performance metrics.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize competing issues under time pressure and to exercise independent judgment on system design, configuration, and incident response decisions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and to reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of combined systems administration and security experience, including experience as the day-to-day technical owner of an environment of comparable scale, and prior experience in a manufacturing or other continuously operating environment.
  • Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Purview
  • REST API and webhook integration development
  • Familiarity with the CIS Critical Security Controls or NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-300 or SC-200, AZ-800/AZ-801, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Administer central identity across Entra ID (Azure AD) and on-premises Active Directory, configuring enterprise single sign-on, multi-factor authentication (MFA), Conditional Access policies, privileged access controls, and automated user lifecycle provisioning.
  • Configure, administer, and govern Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune) and core enterprise SaaS applications, including licensing, tenant configuration, and device management policies.
  • Administer physical and virtual server infrastructure, including host and VM provisioning, resource allocation, patching, monitoring, and capacity, availability, and lifecycle planning.
  • Implement and maintain network security controls and infrastructure supporting corporate systems, including firewall policies, VPN and remote access protocols, network segmentation between business and production environments, DNS/DHCP services, and wireless security. Maintain network documentation and enforce zero-trust access controls at network boundaries. Coordinate with external network operations teams on connectivity and infrastructure changes.
  • Administer backup and replication operations (Veeam), monitor job success, and verify restore integrity through scheduled test restores. Execute and document the technical steps of disaster recovery testing under the disaster recovery and business continuity plans maintained by IT leadership and report results and deficiencies to the IT Team Lead.
  • Develop and optimize automated workflows and data integrations using PowerShell scripts, REST APIs, and webhooks to streamline operations across internal platforms.
  • Administer endpoint detection and response platforms, manage vulnerability risk assessments, and manage automated patch deployment across workstations and servers.
  • Monitor security logs, identity alerts, and mail flow threats. Serve as the first responder for security incidents, executing documented containment and remediation playbooks. Notify the IT Lead of any confirmed incident without delay and escalate to the IT Director in accordance with the incident response procedure. Produce post-incident summaries for IT leadership.
  • Implement and enforce data loss prevention (DLP) rules, sensitivity labels, email security filtering, and cloud security baselines aligned to a recognized control framework such as the CIS Critical Security Controls or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Administer employee phishing simulation campaigns and user security training and serve as the escalation point for complex access and security issues.
  • Maintain current system, network, and security documentation, configuration records, and runbooks sufficient for another administrator to operate the environment. Prepare technical evidence and draft responses supporting customer and third-party IT security questionnaires, cyber insurance renewals, and internal and external audits, for review by IT leadership.
  • Maintain the IT hardware and software asset inventory, license counts, warranty and support coverage, and renewal dates. Serve as day-to-day technical contact for IT vendors and service providers and provide the IT Lead with the asset and renewal data required for lifecycle and budget planning.
  • Implement platform and security standards issued by the parent company’s IT organization and participate in cross-site technical projects as directed by IT leadership.
  • Support business systems used by production, quality, and warehouse teams, and coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance at the boundary between business IT and plant-floor systems.
  • Provide daily user support as needed.
