About The Position

Assists in the day-to-day administration and maintenance of IT security systems. Provides second-level support to the Help Desk for IT security system issues. Solves IT security system problems and executes solutions within specifications and with direction/guidance.

Requirements

3+ years of experience with configuring and maintaining hardware firewalls
2+ years of experience with configuring and maintaining VPN systems
2+ years of experience with configuring and maintaining nix systems
2+ years of experience with configuring and maintaining Windows server systems
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

Serves as lead administrator for IT security systems.
Administers departmental firewall solutions, including monitoring, implementing changes after approval, backups, working with trouble tickets, and patching.
Administers departmental Virtual Private Networking (VPN) solutions, including monitoring, implementing changes after approval, backups, working with trouble tickets, and patching.
Responds to incidents on a 24X7 basis.
Creates policies and procedures for the administration of IT security systems, specifically for Firewalls and VPNs.
Performs vulnerability assessments against new devices before production implementation.
Configures, tests, reports, and provides guidance to correct deficiencies with IT system assessments.
Escalates issues with the Information Security Officer.
Works with various levels of departmental personnel to ensure that business needs and security objectives are met.
Completes work requests.
Responds to email requests dealing with IT security systems.
Works with section managers and the ISO to determine appropriate security controls for business systems.
Assists the Information Security Officer with technology evaluations and solutions.
Conducts reviews of new and existing technologies and coordinates planning with the ISO.
Reviews statistics from current IT security systems and provides feedback to ISO.
