About The Position

As a System Operations Support Advisor, you will help ensure that MISO’s System Operations team is equipped with the real‑time tools, training, and strategic guidance needed to manage an increasingly dynamic grid. You’ll contribute to the development and execution of departmental and divisional strategies, support key metrics that drive long‑term success, and bring forward ideas that improve how our business operates. As part of a highly collaborative, cross‑functional environment, you’ll work with operators, engineers, developers, and leaders to identify improvements, prioritize efforts, and ensure ongoing readiness for a rapidly evolving industry. You will play a critical role in evaluating and optimizing processes to ensure our teams can perform reliably and efficiently; today and into the future. You’ll also be a partner on the implementation of new tools, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements. Your work will directly support the effectiveness of the Reliability Coordinators and Engineers who manage the grid every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Technology, or related field (or equivalent technical or related work experience in lieu of a degree)
  • Demonstrated leadership or influential experience, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels
  • At least six or more years of relevant work experience in a related field
  • Previous energy industry experience

  • Energy Market experience
  • Power System Analysis experience
  • Experience presenting technical or operational topics
  • MISO operations/ops support experience
