About The Position

We’re seeking a Systems/Network Administrator, in support of AVIAN's corporate Information Technology (IT) operations. A Systems/Network Administrator is part of AVIAN’s IT team and is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient operation of AVIAN’s systems and networks. The role ensures proactive identification and remediation of system and network issues, supports cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard CUI and other sensitive information, and provides responsive technical support to employee‑owners in alignment with AVIAN’s IT Management Policy. Working closely with the SharePoint Administrator and IT/Cybersecurity Specialist, the Systems/Network Administrator executes daily operational tasks, assists with incident response, implements corrective actions, and helps maintain existing documentation and audit readiness across the enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related, or an equivalent combination of education, professional training, and/or work experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in systems administration and network management within enterprise environments.
  • Hands‑on with Windows Server, Microsoft 365 Tenant Administration, Entra ID, virtualization, LAN/WAN, routing/switching, firewalls, and endpoint management.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity practices, incident response workflows, and security compliance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, ownership mindset, and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Clear written/verbal communication and customer‑service orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in GCC High or other secure/government tenant environments.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft AZ-104, or Cisco CCNA.
  • Familiarity with digital forensics, audit processes, and remediation activities.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize enterprise systems and network infrastructure (servers, switches, firewalls, endpoints, VPN, wireless, authentication services).
  • Conduct routine health checks, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes to maintain availability, stability, and performance.
  • Support proactive cybersecurity policies and procedures; assist with discovery, verification, and documentation of cyber incidents.
  • Execute remediation steps during IT incidents in coordination with IT leadership; support digital forensics and technical remediation efforts as directed.
  • Apply corrective actions related to vulnerabilities, configuration drift, audit findings, and compliance requirements.
  • Administer asset lifecycle activities, including acquisition, installation, tracking, maintenance, and decommissioning of hardware and software.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee helpdesk requests. Provide timely end‑user support for account management, access, device setup, and troubleshooting; collaborate with HR/Ops and Security on onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain technical documentation (network diagrams, configuration baselines, runbooks, troubleshooting guides) and contribute to audit preparation materials.
  • Report recurring issues, risks, and infrastructure needs to IT leadership; recommend continuous improvements to systems and processes.
