About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant's responsibilities involve inspecting Campus Systems, which include HVAC equipment, pumps, condensers, compressors, and electrical and domestic water services. They start up, regulate, and shut down equipment. They ensure that the equipment operates safely, economically, and within limits by monitoring meters, gauges, and computerized controls. They watch and listen to machinery and routinely check safety devices, record data in logs, and identify potential problems. They are ready and motivated to learn new job skills through on-the-job training (OJT) and professional training classes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or HSE
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors
  • Tolerance for working in confined spaces with uncomfortable temperature variations
  • Physical capability to access various locations on campus, involving walking and climbing stairs
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency
