About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer for the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The role integrates, validates, and deploys mission-critical capabilities intended to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the National Airspace System (NAS). TFDM is the FAA's NextGen surface management solution for airport surface and terminal airspace operations. The engineer works with software and systems engineers and FAA stakeholders, supporting capabilities used by air traffic controllers and airport operations. The position combines integration and test engineering with direct customer engagement during system deployments, formal test events, and customer acceptance activities at airports nationwide. The role is based in Leidos's Gaithersburg, Maryland office on a hybrid schedule of three days per week onsite and two days remote. Travel to FAA airport locations is required; the description gives both up to 25% and, under required qualifications, willingness to travel up to 50%, with trips typically lasting one to two weeks. Applicants selected must undergo a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
