About The Position

The Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions that integrate hardware, software, and network systems into a cohesive architecture. This role ensures that different technologies and platforms function together seamlessly to meet business and technical requirements. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration strategies, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python at a production scale — multi-module applications, REST API integration, scheduling, logging, and error handling.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA or MES platforms; Ignition experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and work with industrial control systems (terminal blocks, DC signal types, sensor wiring).
  • Experience with MQTT, IP networking, and industrial wireless protocols.
  • Power BI data modeling and SQL; experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake a plus).
  • SAP experience — understanding of production order data, ERP reporting, and manufacturing KPIs (OEE, schedule attainment, yield).

Nice To Haves

  • 5-8 years of experience in related field is preferred.
  • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
  • Maintain, extend, and rebuild parts of the working platform (live shop floor sensor networks, MES integrations, quality dashboards, and ERP data pipelines) as the company transitions to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Own and maintain the Ignition SCADA platform, including server administration, Perspective project development, and custom module components.
  • Maintain and extend Python-based automation scripts that manage production run lifecycle in our MES (SafetyChain), including OEE data collection and SAP schedule integration.
  • Lead the rebuild of SAP data integrations as OSI transitions from ECC to S/4HANA — designing a clean, maintainable data layer from the ground up.
  • Maintain and expand shop floor sensor networks (wireless IoT nodes, MQTT gateways, Banner DXM/DX80 hardware) across multiple facilities.
  • Support and extend multi-plant SPC and OEE dashboards used by plant management and QA teams across North America.
  • Travel to OSI facilities as needed for hardware installation, troubleshooting, and project deployment.
  • Work with plant operations and IT stakeholders to scope and deliver new integrations and reporting tools.
  • Understand and place in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, and use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Company annual discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
  • Comprehensive paid time off (sick, vacation, holidays and other programs).
  • 401k with matching company contributions.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, disability and other voluntary coverages for you and your family.
  • Educational assistance with opportunities for professional development.
