About the position

Figure, an AI Robotics company based in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer with 5+ years of experience in robotics or a similar field and a Master's degree in robotics or a related field. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand and debug complex systems, tackle problems in which they may not have expert knowledge, and extensive experience developing and working with robots. The Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for ensuring requirements are correctly translated into functional design architecture, contributing to the architectural decisions of all of the different subsystems of the robot, designing high-level build plans to ensure that all teams are unblocked, having a complete understanding of all systems and how they come together, and helping debug persistent issues that arise, in both hardware and software, during robot bring up and testing. Bonus qualifications include the ability to write C++, Python, and CAD, experience with Linux, and experience with designing test plans.

Responsibilities

Ensure requirements are being correctly translated into functional design architecture
Contribute to the architectural decisions of all of the different subsystems of the robot
Design high level build plans to ensure that all teams are unblocked
Have a complete understanding of all systems and how they come together
Help debug persistent issues that arise, in both hardware and software, during robot bring up and testing

Requirements

5+ years of experience in robotics or similar field
Master's degree in robotics or similar
Ability to understand and debug complex systems
Ability to tackle problems in which you may not have expert knowledge
Understanding of how different subsystems (Controls, Electrical, Software, Mechanical) interact, and where they commonly have issues
Extensive experience developing and working with robots
Bonus qualifications: ability to write C++, Python a plus, ability to CAD a plus, experience with Linux a plus, experience with designing test plans
