In Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers. Our Integrated Systems Team seeks interns to support integration and test of hardware and software of complex air defense systems. Our team provides system engineering, integration, and test expertise to the radar, missile, and ground system programs within Raytheon. In this role you will perform various engineering activities depending on your experience and skill level, such as system test requirements development, planning, execution, and analysis for system integration and verification in hardware-in-the-loop facilities, flight tests, and sell-off of production systems; technical support on-site and as reach-back for deployed sensor systems; and modeling and simulation.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Experience to troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
  • Experience to troubleshooting technical issues with software (C, C++)
  • Experience to data analysis using tools such as MATLAB
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.​
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance​
  • DoD Clearance: Secret
  • Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Engineering Internship working independently or in a team environment
  • Understanding of radar signal and data processing
  • MATLAB knowledge and experience
  • Experience with DOORS or related database
  • Experience with Linux operating system environment

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, execution, and reporting for integration and verification tests for hardware, software, and/or flight tests
  • Perform work within the requirements database in DOORS to update and maintain the Verification Cross Reference Matrix
  • Develop detailed integration information sheets and/or verification information sheets
  • Support system or software regression testing, and associated data analysis
  • Perform data analysis for radar hardware, software and/or simulations using tools such as MATLAB
  • Troubleshooting issues and anomalies with hardware and/or software, to identify root cause and implement and verify fixes
  • Business travel to support program objectives may be required. Local travel between Raytheon locations in MA and Southern NH may also be required
