2027 Summer Intern - Systems Engineering - Onsite
About The Position
RTX is hiring a 2027 summer Systems Engineering Intern to work onsite in El Segundo, California. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional project teams and support active development milestones while receiving technical direction and mentorship from assigned Senior Engineers. The role supports systems engineering throughout the development lifecycle, including initial design, integration and test, and product documentation. The intern will also participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and lab verification sessions. U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens may access information under the program or contract. No security clearance is required.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM major.
- Must remain actively enrolled through completion of the internship or co-op session.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
- Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators, for circuit characterization, debugging, and validation.
- Software development experience, such as using Python. Experience may come from employment, research, coursework, or projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate onsite with cross-functional project teams to deliver systems engineering solutions and support active development milestones.
- Work with assigned Senior Engineers, follow technical direction, and incorporate feedback, guidance, and best practices into daily engineering tasks.
- Assist with systems engineering across the development lifecycle, including initial systems design, integration and test, and product documentation.
- Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and lab verification sessions.
