Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal System Engineer (T03/T04 levels). This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Requirements

Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Proficiency with Cost estimating tools (ACEIT, SEER, ReliaSoft, or similar) - 3 years of experience
Proficiency with Cost As an Independent Variable (CAIV) or Requirement vs Cost (RvC) modeling - 1 year of experience
Demonstrated technical expertise in the areas of cost specific modeling or modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) - 3 years of experience
Experience utilizing base year dollars and understanding of inflation / Net Present Value (NPV) - 1 year
Knowledge of Agile development practices
Principal Systems Engineer (T-03 level): Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with a minimum 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Master’s; or 1 years with a PhD
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (T-04 level): Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with a minimum 8 years of related experience; 6 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with a PhD

Nice To Haves

Active Top Secret Clearance
Proficiency with data handling scripting (SQL, Azure, PowerBI or similar) - 1 year of experience
Proficiency with engineering scripting (Python, C++/C#, Matlab, VBA or similar) - 1 year of experience
Experience with cost estimating ACAT 1 programs
Expertise with Systems Engineering (SE) (Systems engineering V, systems integration, VV&A, or similar)
Experience defining confidence bounds and quantifying sources of error in models
Experience with Agile Release Train (ART) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira / Confluence)
Advanced use of standard Microsoft Office products to include development tools
Strong interest to interact with a wide variety of skills across multiple engineering domains. These engineering domains include: Systems Safety, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Integrated Logistics Support, Product Support, Digital Integration, and Sustainment Cost Modeling
Experience with pathfinding / blank page development efforts
INCOSE certifications
Knowledge of DoD CAPE guide, Title 10 U.S.C. Chapter 323, or DoDI 5000.73
Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review

Responsibilities

Join a team modeling high level Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Cost (RAM-C) processes across multiple campuses.
Focus on Operating and Support (O&S) modeling to support affordable system design over its lifespan.
Support Requirement vs Cost (RvC) and Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) analysis for design reviews and major program events.
May include other product support related modeling efforts to include Availability, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Life Cycle Cost (LCC).
