About The Position

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama, supporting the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. The role performs Systems Engineering functions including requirements decomposition, system design, and system integration and test. The team uses an Agile framework, with Jira and Confluence to manage its backlog and document progress.

The successful candidate is expected to take on progressively challenging responsibilities, demonstrate initiative, and drive innovative solutions. The position calls for a self-starter with the ability to lead teams, learn quickly, and deliver results in dynamic environments. The selected applicant must be a U.S. citizen and hold an active Secret security clearance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field from an accredited university.
• Five years of experience with a bachelor's degree in science, or three years with a master's degree.
• Prior experience using DOORS.
• Prior experience using Atlassian tools.
• Familiarity with Agile terminology and best practices.
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo.
• Familiarity with automated software requirements testing and analysis.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have an active Secret security clearance.
• Demonstrated initiative, ability to learn quickly, and ability to deliver results in dynamic environments.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs.
• Prior experience with hardware-to-software interfaces.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems.
• Convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions while accounting for technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Develop, mature, and coordinate project, software, and interface requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop requirements, manage progress, and clear roadblocks.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure proper verification and validation of project and software requirements.
• Support the IDT product team in requirements decomposition, system design, and system integration and test.
