About The Position

The Mid-Level Boundary Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will implement, and maintain network perimeter infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices. They will configure and troubleshoot network routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), configure and maintain firewall infrastructure, and monitor network performance, identifying areas for improvement at the network edge. The role involves troubleshooting network issues and providing timely resolution related to perimeter devices, implementing and maintaining network security policies and procedures, managing and maintaining PKI infrastructure, and ensuring network compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaboration with other IT teams to support business applications and services, and documentation of network configurations and procedures are also key responsibilities. Requirements

  • Must have 2, or more, years of Boundary experience.
  • Must have direct experience with the Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW)
  • Must have direct experience operating Web Proxys
  • Must have working experience AND an understanding of the OSI model and IP protocol stack.
  • Must have experience working with network switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) as they pertain to Netscalers, Cisco, Citrix, and Firepower.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, etc.)
  • Must have, or obtain, an active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience in assessing and documenting test or analysis data to show cyber security compliance
  • Have experience working within the National Industrial Security Procedures and Operations Manual (NISPOM)
  • Be familiar with Isolated Network security best practices
  • Have a current CISSP certification or DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification
  • Have a current CCNA certifiation
  • Be proficient in Authorization to Operate (ATO) under the Joint (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG)
  • Have experience working in a Zero Trust Environment
  • Strong Organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Be able to effectively communicate with customers and other team members, both orally and in writing
