About The Position

Summit TRC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join its Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team. The role applies MBSE principles across the Systems Engineering Lifecycle and requires a foundation in MBSE tools, methodologies, and frameworks. The position is performed on-site in Huntsville, Alabama. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and hold a Secret or higher security clearance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3–7 years of MBSE experience.
• Clear knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle.
• Experience interfacing with customers and navigating complex organizational processes and approval workflows.
• Deep practical knowledge of SysML and Cameo tools.
• Experience setting up new models and working in models developed by others.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to established project methodology.
• Ability to work independently on open-ended tasks and make thoughtful decisions.
• Ability to work within a team of MBSE practitioners and propose thoughtful changes to team processes and methodologies.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Secret or higher security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Capture, understand, translate, and document customer requirements.
• Interface with customers and cross-functional teams, driving requirements and MBSE adoption in structured government environments.
• Define system and product requirements and generate hardware and software specifications and requirements.
• Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to support efficient planning and execution.
• Manage and document system configurations and transitions into system realization.
• Execute phases of the System Lifecycle in a model-based context, applying fundamental Systems Engineering principles.
• Architect, design, and depict systems using languages such as SysML.
• Develop and maintain models using tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, and Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Apply methodologies and frameworks such as MagicGrid, OOSEM, DoDAF, and UAF.
