Systems Engineer - Multiple Levels

AeroVironment•Albuquerque, NM
•Onsite

About The Position

AeroVironment (AV) is hiring Systems Engineers at multiple experience levels for onsite positions in Albuquerque, New Mexico, or Germantown, Maryland. Systems Engineers support the development, integration, verification, and deployment of advanced aerospace, space RF, laser, beam-control, and electromechanical systems, translating customer needs and technical concepts into well-defined, testable, mission-ready products. Depending on the assignment, engineers may work on space and ground RF systems, ground-based laser and beam-control products, or related advanced technology programs. The role involves collaboration with systems, mechanical, electrical, RF, optical, software, test, and program management teams throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities and seniority depend on qualifications, experience, and program needs. More experienced candidates may lead systems engineering activities or special projects and provide technical direction and mentorship. Systems Engineers may work directly with teams developing, integrating, testing, fielding, and supporting prototype and low-rate production hardware, and may occasionally travel to customer, supplier, test, or field locations. The stated salary range is $75,000 to $210,000, with compensation determined by level, responsibilities, location, experience, education, certifications, contract affordability, organizational needs, internal equity, and market data. AV’s benefits include health, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; paid time off and company holidays; parental leave; a 401(k) with company match and contributions; professional development and training reimbursements; a 9/80 work schedule; paid holiday shutdown; and other work/life programs. The role requires access to information subject to ITAR and/or EAR controls. Applicants will be asked to provide documentation verifying U.S. person status, and some positions require U.S. citizenship due to contract requirements.
