About The Position

Graebel Companies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Manager, Systems Engineering who will be responsible for leading and actively contributing to the IT Infrastructure team’s operations across a hybrid environment (on-premises, Azure, and AWS). This role combines hands-on technical execution with team leadership, ensuring the stability, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day systems engineering activities, supports strategic initiatives defined by the Director of IT Infrastructure, and serves as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

Experience with Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), including SSO and MFA enforcement
Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking components (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLANs, routing, VNETs, VPCs)
Experience partnering with Information Security to implement and maintain security controls
Experience with vulnerability management and endpoint protection (Tenable, Red Canary, CrowdStrike)
Experience ensuring systems are regularly patched and compliant using enterprise patch management tools (Azure Arc, Action1)
Experience enforcing system security baselines and configuration standardization using Group Policy (GPO)
Experience executing and improving patching, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation processes
Experience implementing and maintaining infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
Experience leading root cause analysis and ensuring follow-through on corrective actions
Experience contributing to infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform
Experience supporting enterprise applications and underlying platforms (SQL Server, IIS, .NET)
Experience participating in technology evaluations, solution design, and implementation planning
Experience maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and operational procedures
Experience managing team on-call rotations and participating as needed to ensure 24/7 operational coverage

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage the Systems Engineering team, including performance management, workload prioritization, and professional development
Participate directly in hands-on engineering work, including troubleshooting, system configuration, and infrastructure deployment
Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex infrastructure, system, and cloud-related issues
Oversee and maintain hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises data center systems, and Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS cloud environments
Administer core infrastructure services, including compute, storage, and backup solutions (e.g., NetApp, Cisco UCS, Rubrik)
Maintain and support hybrid identity environments, including Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), with responsibility for SSO and MFA enforcement
Configure and troubleshoot networking components, including DNS, DHCP, and solid working knowledge of firewalls, VLANs, routing, and cloud networking (VNETs, VPCs)
Partner with Information Security to implement and maintain security controls, including vulnerability management and endpoint protection (e.g., Tenable, Red Canary, CrowdStrike)
