About The Position

The Systems Engineer III contributes to the development and implementation of advanced system solutions, aligning and directing technical teams throughout the product development lifecycle. The role represents the integrated system perspective and connects segments and subsystems through top-down decomposition of stakeholder requirements, traceability across development artifacts, and bottom-up system validation and verification. The engineer supports technical development milestones, tracks performance measures, identifies technical risks, and works toward a compliant, cohesive system solution. This position is an emerging leadership role in systems engineering and may lead small teams executing systems engineering work. The Systems Engineer III specifies, architects, and integrates complex system solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts. Responsibilities include managing system requirements and architectures, documenting concepts of operation, preparing artifacts and deliverables for milestone reviews, overseeing system integration and verification, managing technical risks and mitigation strategies, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The role follows established engineering processes and standards and communicates with team members and stakeholders to support project alignment and execution.
