About The Position

The Boeing Company’s Space & Mission Systems MILSATCOM Program is seeking a Lead or Senior Ground Systems Engineer to develop next-generation satellite ground systems in El Segundo, California. The role involves multiple phases of ground-system development, including systems engineering, requirements analysis, interface design, architecture and design support, integration, testing, verification, and customer demonstrations. The successful candidate will help ensure that ground systems meet customer requirements and will receive training in Boeing and ground-system processes and procedures. As part of the MILSATCOM Program Team, the engineer will support ground-system verification, testing, and delivery to the customer. The team develops, executes, and documents test plans, procedures, and reports for systems ranging from individual components to larger functional systems. The position is described as part of a collaborative, professional, mentoring environment with potential for career growth into technical or management roles. The position is expected to be 100% onsite at a listed location option. The role applies an interdisciplinary approach to planning, designing, developing, and verifying lifecycle-balanced systems and systems-of-systems solutions. It evaluates customer and operational needs, defines performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and ensures compatibility across physical, functional, and program interfaces. It also includes analyses of system architecture and of factors such as affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human-systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, security, regulatory compliance, certification, and product assurance. The engineer supports requirements-management processes and tools, risk and issue management, opportunity management, and technology-readiness assessments.
