About The Position

Airborne RF Sensor department is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of work products within the Advanced Technologies Business Unit. This role will support a variety of programs that are defining, creating, and fielding the next-generation RF technologies and capabilities that are needed by our national defense force to meet and surpass the threats of today and beyond. This position is an onsite role in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM degree plus 2 years of relevant work experience
  • MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or related programming languages
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Top Secret Clearance, with prior DoD investigation within the last 5 years
  • Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design or EO/IR algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration, data analysis
  • Data analysis and mathematical problem solving
  • Knowledge of radar fundamentals and a linear algebra background
  • Digital Signal Processing, Communications, or Resource Management
  • Experience in developing RADARs, or EO/IR sensors
  • Familiarity with development best practices/frameworks, e.g., Agile, DevSecOps
  • Background developing analysis and real-time software in both Linux/Unix and Windows environments
  • Flight Test demonstrations and flight data analysis
  • Present technical concepts in briefings or presentations
  • Perform multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Communicate with Test Management, IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customers

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and validate algorithms for RF digital signal processing, data fusion, target tracking, and/or automated resource management, using both simulated and real-time demonstration data
  • Model and simulate of sensor phenomenology, both for RF sensors (e.g. radar, Air-to-Air capabilities, Air-to-Ground capabilities, Electronic Support Measures) and sensors outside the RF spectrum (e.g., EO/IR)
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional team of systems, software, and hardware engineers in efforts including development and/or integration of real-time software, Support modeling and simulation, field demonstrations, processing real-world data, trade studies in system and algorithm design, and requirements allocation and verification
  • Develop and extend automated analysis tools for reducing large data sets and producing analysis outputs, e.g., RF sensor I/Q data, sensor measurement data, tracker measurement data
  • Interface with technical and program team leads on a regular basis in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with communicating between program stakeholders
  • Travel up to 10%
