About The Position

You will provide support to all sites, to include future expansion, increase in growth, and ensure the systems management environment functions effectively is executed and the deployment of all software used on the Enterprise. Responsibilities: Ensure currency of technologies that are integrated as part of AF BlueSCI Enterprise maturation, improvement, or further development. Perform and provide technical solutions, guidance, and expertise for a variety of software and hardware taskings, including: installation, removal, maintenance, configuration management, and restoration for all systems based Enterprise key technologies. Review and assess designs and proposed solutions for possible integration with existing or planned technologies focused on automation, enhanced effectiveness, and efficiency of capabilities. Provide technical reports a. White Papers b. Technical Solutions c. Tech working group (TWG). Be responsible for updating software, validating licenses, and proper labelling and update of electronic software libraries and physical software media in accordance with current Government guidance. Contribute knowledge to the enterprise baseline management support for AF BlueSCI environment. Provide system engineering development and support services for a highly virtualized ESC and AF BlueSCI environment. Physical servers exist at each ESC, AORs and Regional Transport Nodes (RTN)/Distributed Services Hub (DSH for virtual hosting, management, and other services. Provide Tier 3, Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and guidance on Windows and Solaris/UNIX operating systems to the government technicians. Direct and support the set-up, planning, and implementation of the system management environment to support client deployments, security patch management and schedules, application deployments, automation scripts, inventory reporting, and all other aspects of the systems management environment at the respective ESC or OL, to include future expansion and increases in growth. Evaluate vendor updates and patches as they come available and design installation methods using scripting (i.e. vbscript, powershell). Analyze vendor released and DoD software patches to ensure full compatibility with operational systems. Analyze existing and emerging server and network technology to ensure the network stays on the leading edge of development. Assist with the continual development and evolution of the network Change Approval Board (CAB) process and ensure that proper coordination is obtained prior to any hardware, software, or patch deployment on the production network. Develop project drawings using Visio drawing software as required by the project. Install, configure and test technical solutions in the laboratory environment before deployment on the production network. Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, and run diagnostic tests on operating system and hardware to detect problems. Evaluate and install software during various phases of system life cycle.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with 9 years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s degree may count toward experience).
  • Must have verified DOD Top Secret clearance with SCI on day one.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE.
  • Experience Building, configuring and maintaining software/hardware lab environments
  • 3-5 years Software Testing experience is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Linux certification
  • ITIL4 (highly desired)
  • Experience with LINUX environments highly desired.
  • At least five (5) years of government contracting experience preferred.
  • Prior military service in an Information Technology career field preferred.
  • Proven critical thinking and strategic problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
