About The Position

The Systems Engineer II is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and systems. This role works with senior engineers and architects to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of systems that support business and customer operations. Focused on bridging the gap between mission-level requirements and hardware/software implementation. This position supports and delivers the engineering lifecycle and will support multi-disciplinary teams through critical milestones, including PDR and CDR, while managing complex requirements.

Requirements

  • Self-starter with good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be able to cooperatively develop integration plans/procedures from sources such as functional/performance requirements and stated technical capabilities, monitor the integration of the test resources, execute these detailed integration procedures, analyze integration results, and present the results orally and in written format.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in troubleshooting of small to large scale infrastructure.
  • Linux and Windows experience required.
  • Knowledge of or practical experience with industry or DoD test methodologies and terminology.
  • 6+ years’ experience
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject preferred
  • Minimum Active SECRET Clearance Required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage system requirements, ensuring traceability from mission or business needs through design, implementation, verification, and deployment
  • Translate stakeholder, operational, and contractual requirements into technical system specifications and architectures
  • Design, analyze, and integrate complex systems, subsystems, hardware, software, and network components across the full system lifecycle
  • Perform system architecture development, trade studies, and technical analyses to support design decisions and risk mitigation
  • Establish and maintain system documentation, including requirements specifications, interface control documents, architecture artifacts, and design descriptions
  • Support system integration, verification, validation, and test activities to ensure systems meet performance, safety, security, and quality requirements
  • Identify, assess, and manage technical risks, issues, and dependencies, providing mitigation strategies and recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, security requirements, and regulatory or contractual obligations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, cybersecurity, test, operations, and program management
  • Support configuration management and change control processes to maintain system integrity and baseline control
  • Participate in technical reviews and milestones, such as SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and readiness assessments
  • Provide technical guidance, recommendations, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders
  • Support operational sustainment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of deployed systems
