Collins Aerospace is looking for a Systems Engineer II with a passion for engineering and the desire to lead to join the Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team. The team is responsible for architecting, designing, and developing systems for real-time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military ground, airborne, and maritime applications. This position offers abundant opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge of Assured PNT systems architecture, and to apply that knowledge in a team effort to develop our navigation products for the warfighter. Collins Aerospace continues to build on a strong history of providing navigation equipment to meet the evolving needs of commercial and military users. Our navigation solutions provide enhanced situational awareness and pinpoint accuracy for airborne and surface missions worldwide allowing users of our equipment to complete their mission and return home safe.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Nice To Haves
- An understanding of system engineering processes
- Prior experience in GPS and/or Antenna Electronics development
- Experience with system integration and test
- Experience with troubleshooting integration issues including root-cause analysis
Responsibilities
- Support verification and traceability of the system requirements.
- Develop verification test procedures and execute procedures in a secure lab.
- Conduct peer reviews on test procedures & design documentation.
- Collaborate across teams on program goals.
- Coordinate communication and status to relevant stakeholders.
- Own the development of your design approach through collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Help drive resolution for technical issues through problem-solving and coordination across impacted teams.
- Improve our approaches through sharing lessons learned with the team and department.
