About The Position

InfoConsulting is seeking a Systems Engineer (IFS Cloud) to support its expansion plans in Australia. This role is crucial for strengthening the team and embarking on a new journey. The position combines deep IFS Cloud platform and use case knowledge with hands-on infrastructure and database expertise, acting as the technical foundation that keeps client environments stable, performant, and supportable across the project lifecycle and into managed services.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer, Database Administrator, or infrastructure specialist supporting IFS Cloud or IFS Applications, or a comparable enterprise ERP platform.
  • Hands-on Oracle database administration experience, including performance tuning, indexing, storage/tablespace management, backup and recovery, and patching in a production enterprise application environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application performance bottlenecks and database issues using execution plans, AWR/ASH or equivalent diagnostics, and SQL/session-level analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFS Cloud Build Place and Use Place concepts, environment lifecycle management, and standard IFS Cloud use cases across one or more Solution Areas.
  • Good understanding of modern IT architecture and infrastructure concepts, including servers, operating systems, virtualisation, networking, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or OCI).
  • Experience working with case/ticket management tooling, maintaining an active caseload, and managing customer communication through to resolution.
  • Comfortable working independently using professional judgement to resolve complex, ambiguous technical issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Experience supporting cutover, go-live, and hypercare phases of ERP implementation projects.
  • A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional) and/or IFS Cloud certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Oracle databases supporting IFS Cloud, including performance tuning, indexing strategy, storage and tablespace management, backup and recovery, patching, and routine database health checks.
  • Build, configure, and maintain IFS Cloud environments across Build Place and Use Place, including environment provisioning, refreshes, cloning, and promotion between environments.
  • Investigate and resolve application performance bottlenecks and database-related issues, using execution plans, AWR/ASH or equivalent diagnostic reports, session and wait-event analysis, and IFS Cloud application diagnostics to isolate root cause.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of IFS Cloud architecture, Solution Areas, and standard use cases to correctly distinguish infrastructure, configuration, and application-level issues during troubleshooting.
  • Support and maintain the underlying IT infrastructure for IFS Cloud deployments, including servers, operating systems, virtualisation, networking, and cloud platform components (e.g. Azure, AWS, or OCI) as applicable to each engagement.
  • Triage and resolve customer-reported technical issues logged via ICAU's case management tooling, working independently to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, database, and application issues.
  • Monitor system health, availability, and performance across client environments, and set up or maintain monitoring and alerting for proactive issue identification.
  • Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, and hypercare activities, including environment stability checks, performance validation, and database readiness sign-off.
  • Collaborate with Software Architects and Software Engineers to distinguish infrastructure/database root causes from application configuration or custom development issues, and support resolution across the technical stack.
  • Document environment architecture, database configuration, infrastructure changes, and troubleshooting outcomes to ICAU documentation standards.
  • Participate in IFS product and platform knowledge-sharing activities to stay current on IFS Cloud infrastructure requirements, supported platforms, and release-driven changes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of ICAU's environment management practices, database administration standards, and infrastructure delivery playbooks.

Benefits

  • Ongoing professional development, including IFS certifications and training.
  • Remote work arrangements.
  • Supportive, innovative culture.
  • Attractive salary.
  • Performance bonuses.
  • Global network with opportunities to collaborate on international projects.
