Systems Engineer I- Onsite
About The Position
The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Discipline organization is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, System Security Engineering (SSE), integration and system level testing, identifying and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues, and developing automated or operator-driven tests in support of system-level integration, verification and validation. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting Systems Engineering, Systems Integration & Test activities across the product development life cycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
- Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Nice To Haves
- Experience with various areas of the Technical Data Package (drawings, parts lists, and electrical schematics) and experience generating/interpreting Parts List
- Experience reviewing and understanding system drawings
- Experience in understanding a generation breakdown
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Supply chain familiarity
- Experience with or exposure to various military platforms such as ships, ground combat systems, fixed and rotary wing aircraft
- Experience working in a project management environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Support engineering activities related to testing and troubleshooting of hardware and software
- Functional analysis of real world and test data; trade studies to bring advanced features to fielded system
- Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
- System integration and test support, possibly including live fire test events
- Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
- Support qualification of our products
- Sustainment/Depot returns and repair
- Maintain engineering specifications (DS, ARD, etc.) & drawing (Schematics & Assembly Drawings)
- Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
- Maintain engineering databases
- Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
- Collaborate with cross-product teams including Chief Engineers, Program Directors and Program Managers
- Applying advanced logistics principles to develop complex program level concepts and plans
