The Systems Design Engineer includes both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines. The job responsibilities include developing 2D and 3D drawings and sheet sets to meet feasibility study requirements. As part of the design packet, the Engineer will develop the project estimate and schedule to prepare the study for funding approval. The Systems Engineer will need to effectively communicate cross-functionally to gain support for projects and drive schedule compliance. They also will interface and collaborate with material-handling vendors, conveyor manufacturers, electrical control manufacturers and consultants to ensure compliance with UPS standards, and safety regulations. The final project should incorporate the latest engineering technologies to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective solutions in the material-handling industry.

Requirements

  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and simple diagrams
  • Proficient in advanced 2D and 3D drafting, utilizing Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Architecture, Inventor with Factory Design Utilities, Navisworks Manage and Docs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Outlook)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Engineering
  • SolidWorks experience is optional.
