Join our Clinical Sequencing Division (CSD) at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll play a critical role in delivering automated sequencing solutions to our customers. As a Systems Design Engineer II, you'll focus on testing, troubleshooting, and validating sophisticated clinical sequencing systems from integration through deployment. Collaborate extensively with software and engineering teams across the organization to ensure seamless system performance and customer success. Your work will involve rigorous testing protocols, identifying and resolving complex system issues, and partnering with cross-functional teams to bring reliable automated solutions to clinical laboratories. Requirements

  • Bachelor's plus 2 years of experience in systems engineering, product testing, or related technical role or Master's Degree in Engineering or Science field
  • Expertise in system integration, testing, and validation of complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with focus on troubleshooting and practical implementation
  • Experience with Linux OS required
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of global, multidisciplinary teams
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and optimization capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of sequencing technologies, laboratory automation, or clinical instrumentation beneficial
  • Proficiency in Python programming and data analysis preferred
