About The Position

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Sr Systems Computer & Storage Engineer VP to join our Enterprise Technology team in Enterprise Compute, Business Aligned Platforms. This team is responsible for computers, enterprise storage, virtualization, and backup technologies. The Sr Systems Computer & Storage Engineer will be responsible for engineering and operational duties for a diverse set of technologies with a focus on Linux and storage. The position requires excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently to meet team goals and objectives. In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering position at VP level, which is part of the job family responsible for managing and optimizing technical infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems to support business needs effectively. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of proven experience in managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux, enterprise storage, & VMware
  • Proven skills using Bash, Python, or Ansible for scripting and automation
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and proven ability to lead initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Strong NetApp file/block (NFS/iSCSI/FC) storage experience preferred
  • Experience supporting Linux systems running Oracle DBs in an iSCSI/FC SAN environment
  • REST API scripting/automation experience a plus
  • Red Hat Satellite experience in patching and vulnerability management
  • CIS standards implementation/adoption a plus
  • NFSv4 w/Kerberos authentication experience a plus
  • Cisco UCS or other blade infrastructure experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of Linux server lifecycle management, on-premises and in the public cloud, including deployment, maintenance, security, and decommissioning
  • Lead security focused efforts to harden the Linux environment
  • Identify areas where automation for operational improvement of day-to-day/manual tasks can be deployed across various systems & storage technologies
  • Respond to and resolve alerts associated with Linux, VMware, and storage events
  • Leverage enterprise tools to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot systems and make informed decisions for workload optimization
  • Collaborate with other infrastructure teams in the troubleshooting and resolution of escalated system and application related issues
  • Maintain current and accurate Confluence documentation for team technologies
  • Maintain team source code in Git
  • Track projects and tasks in Jira
  • Work closely with risk teams to address identified deficiencies in the environment
