Federal Signal is hiring a Systems Application Specialist. This position will perform technical planning, quoting, and system clarifications to assist internal/external customers with the development of correct engineered solutions. The role involves performing all levels of system support, including concept, design, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of Public Address General Alarm, Analog/Digital Radio Systems, IP Networks, Wireless Broadband, Satellite, and Cellular Systems. The specialist will complete required documentation for each project to enable the technical support team to provide seamless Tier-1 support to customers. They will also create presentations related to Systems design to influence specification writing with Engineering consultants domestically and internationally, and prepare special manuals, wiring diagrams, and system test procedures to ensure engineered systems meet customer specifications, applicable engineering standards, and are completely tested, documented, and filed. Consultation with company engineering on specifications affecting form, fit, or function, and providing technical support for initiatives relative to Legacy Warning Systems customers and potential take-over responsibilities are also key aspects of the role. Up to 25% travel is required for field work, trade shows, customer on-site training, including international travel. The specialist ensures SMV designs meet and/or exceed customer requirements and adhere to FSC SMV Policies/Procedures. Other duties and projects will be assigned.
