About The Position

The Maine Community College System (MCCS) is looking for a full-time Systems and Network Administrator. This position provides advanced technical services and is responsible for managing the infrastructure for servers and networks. Duties will include managing firewalls, Nutanix and VMWare environments, and networks. This position serves as the lead technical resource to the Systems and Network Infrastructure Manager on the design, creation, implementation, upgrade, management, advanced troubleshooting and technical support for the college’s infrastructure. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the development of information technology plans for the college and MCCS Information Technology Services, working with faculty and staff to determine future needs and consulting with the Systems and Network Infrastructure Manager and Associate Chief Information Officer of Infrastructure on new policies and procedures. This position is located on site at Central Maine Community College.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or related field.
  • A minimum of six years of experience performing network and server administration functions to include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading server hardware and networking equipment.
  • Network + certification or equivalent required.
  • Ability to find creative ways to solve problems.
  • Experience in looking for more efficient ways of installing and managing servers and networks.

Responsibilities
